The Company of the White Goat was forged through the trials of the great zombie plague of Phirul. Also known as the Night of Souls. After escaping the city, the company was sent north to halt an orc invasion and locate a missing group of miners.In doing so the Company uncovered the hints of a plot between Vecna, lord of secrets and Orcus, demon prince of the undead. The target was none other than the Raven Queen herself.
The aforementioned miners were rescued from a group of Shadar-kai and Dark Ones inside a hidden temple of Vecna. When last we saw our heroes, they stood before a portal to the Shadowfell deep within that temple, ready to pursue the threads of conspiracy.
In the months that followed, the Company entered the Shadowfell and made their way to Gloomwrought, city of night. Following clues and rumors, they unearthed a pact between the Dark Ones and some renegade Shadar-kai, led by a mysterious figure named ‘Sharsan’.
The Company routed out the hidden headquarters of the group from that city, but not before learning that they had engineered the theft of the Raven Queen’s Crown of Fate, an ancient artifact that can control both the dead and the undead.
Sharsan escaped and the Company followed his trail through the astral sea aboard a stolen githyanki skipper, all the way to the lost domain of Kalandurren, a dead land and final resting place of the god Amoth.
Now the Company has chased Sharsan to his lair and is ready to confront this mysterious figure, retrieve the Crown of Fate, and discover his place in Vecna’s plot.
